Yurts have been used by the nomadic people of Mongolia for centuries as the tribes follow the herds. Yurt Beautiful is an authentic Mongolian Yurt. Camel hide is cut and used to attach the pieces of lattice together. Horse hair is used for the ropes that hold the shape of the yurt. Wool from sheep is used to create the ticking that is use

Camel hide is cut and used to attach the pieces of lattice together. Horse hair is used for the ropes that hold the shape of the yurt. Wool from sheep is used to create the ticking that is used for insulation. The wood components of the yurt, the huns (roof supports), bagaans (supports for the toono), toono (Center piece that holds the huns) and the front doors (inner and outer) are all hand painted by the women of the tribe.

Yurt Beautiful is a spacious 20' diameter yurt, with a queen size bed and trundle bed/day couch, so it can sleep four. There is a table and chairs. There are solar powered LED lights in the yurt for illumination and a charging port for a cell phone. The yurt is set on a platform located in the trees. There is a deck around the perimeter and a walkway to the washroom.
We offer our guests delicious homemade breakfast. For an additional fee lunch and or dinner can be provided. Arrangements must be made in advance. We take into consideration food preferences and food allergies. Vegetarian meals are also available.
There are no cooking facilities in Yurt Beautiful.
We are 15 minutes north of Grimshaw, Alberta in the County of Northern Lights. Across the road is the Lac Cardinal Point Uplands Conservation Area. This 623-acre site consists of upland, riparian and wetland habitat, as well as haylands. Wildlife in the area includes moose, white-tailed and mule deer, black bear, grouse and waterfowl. Del

Delicious wild strawberries grow here, but be prepared, it can take quite some time to fill a cup!
Here are Benelli and Miley, the guardians of our property and Yurt Beautiful. They are extremely friendly with people and love to soak up attention, but their job is to keep predators, coyotes, lynx and bears away. They have been very successful.

Season: Bookings are available Tuesday thru Sunday, from Victoria Day weekend (May) until the end of September.

A reservation is confirmed when the booking form is returned and a 50% deposit is received.
Rates: $150.00 CAD per night which includes breakfast for two. Breakfast selections are to be made at time of booking.
Evening meals can be arranged (advance notice required) for an additional charge.
